The Hands-on Approach

The hands-on approach is one that encourages the repair of the neuromusculoskeletal system through manual therapies encompassing the treatment of health ailments of various etiologies through 'hands-on', physical intervention. The scientific bases consider pathology, biomechanics, ergonomics and applied anatomy and physiology. Physical treatments include massage, soft tissue mobilisation and various connective tissue techniques.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a natural therapy using pressure point massage on the feet which connect to organs, structures and systems within the entire body. Through the simulation of these reflex areas, the whole body is treated and brought back to balance. Reflexology is used to treat a number of different disorders, including stress, headaches, back and neck ache, sinus problems, hormonal imbalances and irritable bowel syndrome. Reflexology is used to maintain good health by boosting vitality and prompting balance, so that symptoms of ill-health do not appear.

Relaxation is another great benefit of reflexology. In today’s society many people suffer from stress, tension and the inability to relax, all of which can lead to ill-health.
A reflexology treatment is an effective way of inducing relaxation to body and mind. The main general affect that clients prize from reflexology is the increased feeling of well being that is triggered, lasting for weeks.

Reflexology is a pleasant and non invasive treatment, performed fully clothed. Loose fitting clothing is recommended for your comfort.

The benefits of reflexology:

General physical and emotional balancing
Boosting energy levels
Increasing sense of well being
Releasing stress and nervous tension
Restoring equilibrium
Can help to decrease pain levels
Can help to improve specific conditions
Improves hormone imbalances
Helps to restore good sleep patterns
Can relieve sinus problems

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy massage is a very soothing and relaxing experience. It involves utilising the therapeutic properties of essential oils, the aromatic essences that are extracted from plants. The aim of this treatment is to induce deep relaxation by using very slow repetitive strokes. Essential oils are mixed together with a carrier oil to form a unique blend suited to the client’s condition. The effect of these oils along with the numerous positive benefits of massage combine to form a therapeutic treatment that relaxes the mind and body, balances emotions and invigorates the senses.

Conditions that benefit from aromatherapy massage include:

Stress and anxiety
Back and neck pain
General muscular aches and pains
Respiratory problems
Some contraindications to this treatment are evident, including pregnancy, due to some of the oils used.
