Wrinkle Reducing Treatments
Most people are aware that a healthy lifestyle helps us to maintain a youthful appearance but nothing stops time passing. Frown lines crows feet and wrinkles are a normal part of the aging process. By using our facial muscles repeatedly the skin gets creased in the areas of greatest use. The production of collagen and elastin slows down and these areas become damaged and the lines become permanent. Treatment with Botox reduces the movement of muscles in the desired areas and the overlying skin is allowed to recover causing the lines to soften or fade away. The three main areas treated are the forehead, the frown lines, and the lines around the eyes.
Dermal filling
Dermal fillers are used to create a more youthful appearance by softening lines folds and wrinkles. The fillers used at CTC are all hyaluronic acid based and some also contain a local anaesthetic. Hyaluronic acid is a lubricant found naturally in the skin bones joints and eyes it acts as a lubricant and moisturiser due to its ability to attract and store water. The hyaluronic acid in the products is manufactured and does not contain any animal or human products. Before fillers are used a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin to make the procedure more comfortable.
These fillers create a more youthful appearance by softening deep lines, for example frown lines, or the deeper lines between the mouth and the nose. They can also reduce smoker’s lines by enhancing the border around the upper lip. Thin lips can be enhanced, a more defined border can be created around the mouth, and the corners of the mouth can be lifted.
Skin Peels
As we age our skin becomes dull and lifeless. Darker patches, fine lines, sun damage and uneven pigmentation are just a few manifestations of our cell rejuvenation beginning to slow down. Chemical skin peeling involves the careful application of a chemical exfoliant to the epidermal layer of the skin. The peels are used specifically for the removal of superficial lesions and blemishes therefore enhancing the appearance of the skin by speeding up skin cell rejuvenation. Various acids and chemical agents are used for this purpose. The nature of the compound, the concentration of the chemical, and the level of time it is in contact with the skin determines the amount of skin penetration and the level of peeling. This is a cost effective treatment that will improve the health and radiance of the skin and can also be use to treat acne.
